Group and Team Football Coaching

Whereas a beginner has a tremendous amount of room for improvement and may be able to do it rapidly, the advanced player must expect to improve over a longer period of time.

Team

Bring your team to us or we can come to you and get the sole benefit of having a U.E.F.A  B’ coachwork with your team. Team sessions give a club an opportunity to work solely with a coach on an intensive training programme which helps develop team play.

Prior to the team session we can attend one of your games and assess the team’s performance, during the assessment we will look at your team on the four corners, technical, tactical, physical and social aspects. We will then discuss with you areas that we all feel need work. Depending on the length of team sessions will depend on how many areas we can address. We will usually stick to one theme per session.

We can coach using Small-Sided Games, Phases of play and Functional Practices. Team sessions can be for 1 hour, 1 day or split over a number of weeks – it is up to you!

Small Groups

These sessions are known as small group sessions and will consist of a maximum of 6 players. This style of coaching allows players to work alongside other players of similar ability whilst still having high levels of interaction with the coach. (Can be a group of friends).

We Encourage Player Input

Prior to your coaching session we can attend one of your games and assess your /your team’s performance, during the assessment we will look at you/your team on the four corners, technical, tactical, physical and social aspects. We will then discuss with you areas that we/you feel need work.

By allowing the players to become part of the goal-setting process, our coaches can make the goals more meaningful to them. The players could be asked how often they can practice either with the team or on their own, what they would consider a reasonable goal, how long it would take them to achieve their goal, etc.

The players must be taught that goals require focused, concentrated effort. Goals that require little effort can undermine the potential of their progress. It is essential to challenge the player(s), to make them feel they have worked for their success.

With the right preparation and application, ALL footballers can improve their performances and get more from their football.
